CM Punk comments on John Cena’s retirement.

On this week’s Monday Night RAW, The Last Real Champion made his last appearance on the red brand. He also had a Raw farewell match, which was a six-man tag team match with Rey Mysterio and Sheamus against The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh.

The Best in the World also had a segment on the show where he and his WarGames teammates, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, had a brawl with The Vision’s Bronson Reed, Bron Breaker, Logan Paul, and Drew McIntyre.

The segment also saw the return of Lesnar and Roman Reigns, who aligned with the heels and the babyfaces, respectively.

CM Punk Is A John Cena Fan

That said, CM Punk recently made an appearance on WGN News to promote next year’s Elimination Chamber, which will take place in his hometown of Chicago. During the interview, he was asked to comment on Cena’s retirement.

The Second City Saint stated he is a John Cena fan and considered himself fortunate enough that he’s back in WWE to witness The Never Seen 17 retire.

13th in DC we’re gonna do Saturday Night’s Main Event, and it is going to be the John Cena farewell. End of a great tour.

You see right here on the screen is right now, me and him in the Elimination Chamber. I think this is in Toronto in February, and that’s why I’m here to tell you guys we’re bringing Elimination Chamber in February to Chicago.

A real treat to come back to WWE and to be a witness to John gracefully bowing out and retiring. I’m a small part of his story, and I’m proud to be that small part, and it’s everything to me. I’m a fan of his, just like people are fans of me.

So being around him and being there to experience him. I feel like I’m skating with Gretzky in the last couple of games. (From 3:48)
