CM Punk Makes Brutally Honest Imposter Syndrome Claim
CM Punk may be one of the biggest names in wrestling today, but even he suffers from imposter syndrome at times.
Punk admitted to the claim during a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio with Dave LaGreca, where he discussed being approached for the successful animated Hollywood flick, Zootopia 2.
This is not The Second City Saint’s first movie gig, but definitely his first with a brand of Disney’s repute.
The movie has raked in over $1.5 billion, where Punk voices Gene Zebrowski, a zebra of the ZPD cops. Alongside him, former WWE Champion Roman Reigns brought the character Gene Zebraxton to life, another zebra, the duo collectively called ‘Zebros.’
While speaking about the movie, CM Punk claimed that he could not believe that Disney wanted him, questioning his validity in films.
When I got the call for Zootopia 2, I was like, ‘Huh? What? Disney specifically wants me? Okay?’ There’s a bit of impostor syndrome because I want to be like, ‘Oh, am I like what? Who are the first 13 people who said no to this?’ But no, it’s just like sometimes you just got to realize like, ‘No, you’re good at what you do and people want to work with you.
CM Punk Has Mixed Feelings About WWE: Unreal
WWE: Unreal is back with Season 2, scheduled to air on Netflix on January 20.
The first season gave fans a peek into the company’s development of weekly episodes leading up to WrestleMania 41.
CM Punk was one of the focal points in the docuseries after main-eventing The Show of Shows for the first time in his career.
Earlier, his arch-nemesis, Seth Rollins, expressed annoyance at having cameras on him at all times. Punk seemingly resonated with his sentiments about capturing private moments, but admitted that the show had many positives, too.
Yeah, a little bit. But there’s also a lot of good in it. Like I watched the first season and I liked it. There’s definitely aspects of things that I don’t want people to see, so I tell them not to film it.
I’ll walk into a room, and I’ll be like, ‘Not now.’ I also know that a lot of the times, I get done and I’m coming through Gorilla, everybody’s back there. There’s multiple cameras.
So if I really don’t want them filming something, I’m not going to go through Gorilla. You can control what they shoot and what they put on that show.
