CM Punk In Glasgow For WWE Clash At The Castle (PHOTOS)

CM Punk

CM Punk is in the same city where WWE Clash at the Castle will take place on the same day his biggest rival main events the show.

The first-ever WWE PLE to take place in the country of Scotland will take place today June 15th when Clash at the Castle emanates from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.

While there are several title matches on the show that will be of interest to WWE fans, the match that the fans in Scotland likely care about the most will see Damian Priest defend the World Heavyweight Championship against the “Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre.

That match between Priest and McIntyre is a rematch from WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia when Priest cashed in Money in the Bank on McIntyre. That cash-in happened moments after McIntyre beat Seth “Freakin” Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title and McIntyre celebrated by taunting CM Punk, who was on commentary for the match. Punk had enough of McIntyre’s taunting, so Punk tripped McIntyre on the commentary and Punk hit McIntyre with the brace that Punk had on his right arm to help heal his torn right triceps.

CM Punk tore his triceps during the WWE Royal Rumble back in January, which was his first televised WWE match in ten years. The injury happened when McIntyre gave Punk a Future Shock DDT, Punk’s right arm hit the mat hard and he still went on to finish the match. Punk had surgery days later and is expected to miss anywhere from six to nine months, which means he’ll return this summer at some point.

WWE Fans Share Photos Of CM Punk In Scotland

CM Punk is not advertised in any role for the WWE Clash at the Castle PLE, but multiple fans posted photos of Punk in a store where he was trying to buy Celtic FC football merchandise. What’s interesting about that is that McIntyre’s favorite Scottish club are Rangers, who are the rivals of Celtic FC.
