CM Punk on WWE Raw

CM Punk shares his retirement plans.

The Best in the World made his return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023 after nearly a decade of absence. He recently became the World Heavyweight Champion after defeating Jey Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1.

Therefore, in a way, we could say that his time in WWE has just started, and he has a lot to do to make up for the years he lost while being away from the company.

Punk is already 47 years old, and superstars like John Cena and AJ Styles, who are both 48, have already decided to wind up their wrestling careers. So naturally, people have been wondering when The Second City Saint might decide to call it quits.

CM Punk Has Not Yet Considered Retirement

During a recent interview with Mostly Sports, CM Punk was asked this question and told to elaborate on how he envisions the end of his wrestling career and who he’d like to face as his last opponent.

The reigning World Heavyweight Champion stated he has no idea because he has genuinely not thought about retiring yet. He claimed that he’s focused on the present and enjoys every day as he moves forward in his career.

That one’s so hard to answer. It’s like.. that’s like a huge I don’t know because everything is constantly changing and this is also fleeting. That’s why I say I’m in the present right now. I’m just trying to enjoy every single day.

I go out there and perform, whether it’s just on the microphone or in the ring, like it’s my last time just because I don’t know. You never know what’s going to happen. (From 1:29:10)

CM Punk started his wrestling journey in the late 90s. He was almost 19 when he had his first match. He’s worked with other popular promotions like TNA, ROH, and AEW in the past.
