CM Punk Gives Drew McIntyre The Strap At WWE Bash In Berlin
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre did battle in Berlin while joined together with a strap as Punk finally got his hands on what he wanted – a 50 cent bracelet.
CM Punk has been a thorn in Drew McIntyre’s side ever since the Scottish star took great delight in putting Punk on the shelf at the Royal Rumble. Since then Punk has screwed Drew McIntyre out of the World Heavyweight Championship on no less than three occasions while McIntyre infuriated Punk over the summer by flaunting a bracelet bearing the names of Punk’s wife and dog.
At SummerSlam, Drew McIntyre defeated CM Punk but it was far from a clear-cut victory as McIntyre hit his opponent with a huge low blow behind special guest referee Seth Rollins’ back.
One week after CM Punk used a belt to whip McIntyre, Raw in Fort Lauderdale saw Punk challenge the former World Heavyweight Champion to a Strap Match at Bash In Berlin. Drew McIntyre answered Punk’s challenge there and then questioned if Punk had started drinking and gleefully accepted the match.
CM Punk Takes The Strap In Berlin
At Bash In Berlin, Drew McIntyre wasted no time as he attacked Punk during his entrance and the fight was on. It didn’t take long, however for Punk to have the chance to start hitting the turnbuckles needed to win the match but instead chose to take the fight to McIntyre.
As both men traded the advantage and looked to end the hatred between them by touching four corner posts in sequence, McIntyre dropped Punk over the top rope through a table that had been set up at ringside. Punk recuperated to lock in the Sharpshooter with McIntyre tapping out but the match continued.
CM Punk dropped McIntyre with a Go 2 Sleep to start making his way around the corners and after a second, he surely had the match won but stopped to drop McIntyre with one more before he retrieved the bracelet that had caused all the issues before hitting the fourth turnbuckle to win the match. Whether the war is over, however, remains to be seen.
