CM Punk Sends Drew McIntyre To Hell At WWE Bad Blood
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre took each other to hell and back at WWE Bad Blood but there was only one man left standing tall when it was all over.
Ever since Drew McIntyre injured CM Punk in the 2024 men’s Royal Rumble, the two men have not stopped in trying to make each other’s life a sheer misery. Punk has cost McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship three times with his most heartbreaking screw job coming in McIntyre’s home country of Scotland at Clash at the Castle.
In return, Drew McIntyre sent CM Punk to the hospital with a vicious backstage attack. Punk returned to action for the first time since the Royal Rumble at SummerSlam where McIntyre defeated him.
CM Punk gained a measure of revenge by beating McIntyre in a strap match at Bash In Berlin but as he sought to move on with thoughts of a World Heavyweight Title bout of his own, McIntyre pounced making clear that he was not done with Punk.
There was only one way for the bad blood to be settled and that saw both men enter Hell In A Cell on the 27th anniversary of the first match of its kind in WWE.
CM Punk Gives Drew McIntyre A Taste Of Defeat
A brutal match worthy of Hell In A Cell broke out between Punk and McIntyre with both stars seeing their own blood pouring down their faces. Tables, steel steps, and wrenches were all used in the bout with McIntyre suffering a nasty landing on the steps after missing a Claymore attempt on Punk.
Ultimately it was Punk who picked up the win over McIntyre with a chain-wrapped knee version of the Go 2 Sleep to bring Hell In A Cell to an end.
Michael Cole called it “the final match of the trilogy” between both men and if it is the last time Punk and McIntyre will tangle for now then it was a fittingly violent end to their own bad blood.
