CM Punk Confronts MJF Off-Air Following Dynamite Promo

CM Punk and MJF face off

Following MJF’s expletive-laden promo on Dynamite, AEW Champion CM Punk came out to confront him off-air.

Following a weekend of speculation over MJF’s future in AEW, all eyes were on the June 1st edition of Dynamite after it was announced that the Salt of the Earth would be given the opportunity to speak his mind.

In an instant-classic promo, MJF went after everyone, cutting down the audience, the fans watching at home, his colleagues, and even Tony Khan himself. He went on to take shots, claiming he “doesn’t pretend to watch New Japan” and that he doesn’t have to do “bullsh*t” to get people to care about him.

He turned his attention back to the AEW President at the end of the promo, calling out Khan over his contract and claiming he hoarded money to give to “ex-WWE guys” who aren’t fit to lace his boots. He also asked the question, “hey boss would you treat me better if I was an ex-WWE guy?”

He then proclaimed that he didn’t want to wait until his contract expired in 2024, he wanted out now and demanded Kahn fire him.

“Fire me Tony! Fire me you f*cking mark!”

As MJF continued his tirade, the microphone and lights were cut off, and the show went to a commercial.

Fans in attendance shared footage of what went down during the break, showing that AEW World Champion CM Punk stormed to the ring to confront Friedman, who immediately walked off through the crowd.
