CM Punk Sees Current Champion As Future WWE Opponent
There is a current champion in WWE who CM Punk wants to have a singles feud with.
CM Punk main evented WrestleMania 41 Saturday in Las Vegas as part of a triple threat match with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. There was no title in the match between three future WWE Hall of Famers, but there was a big twist.
Even though Punk walked to the ring with his “best friend” Paul Heyman by his side, Heyman turned on Punk during the match with a low blow uppercut punch. Heyman also turned on Reigns, with whom Heyman was aligned as the “Wise Man” to the Tribal Chief for the past five years. Heyman gave Reigns a low blow as well and helped Rollins win the match.
On the Raw After WrestleMania, Punk was looking for revenge on Rollins and Heyman, but that didn’t happen because Bron Breakker showed up to attack Punk and Reigns. Breakker attacked Punk and Reigns to form an alliance with Rollins and Heyman.
The trio of Rollins, Breakker & Heyman don’t have an official group name as of this writing, but they sure look like a force to be reckoned with.
It’s not known when CM Punk will return to WWE TV, but it seems possible that he could team up with Reigns to get revenge against Rollins and Breakker at some point in the future.
CM Punk Wants To Face WWE US Champion Jacob Fatu In A Singles Match
While speaking to Tudum by Netflix, CM Punk was asked about others on the WWE roster. After praising the women’s division, Punk talked about possible future opponents, specifically mentioning the US Champion Jacob Fatu and an old rival.
“The women are carrying the show a lot of times. I think Rhea Ripley is a superstar. Liv Morgan had an MVP year [in 2024]. I like watching Gunther compete. I hate Dominik Mysterio, that’s neither here nor there.
Guys I want to work with — Jacob Fatu. Got a little taste at WarGames, but one-on-one stuff is my bread and butter, [there’s] more pressure that way … Finn Bálor is fantastic. I selfishly want to lock back up with Rey Mysterio, teach him a lesson for having such a brat kid.”
CM Punk’s rivalry with Rey Mysterio was 15 years ago when Rey’s family was also involved. Punk has also wrestled Dominik Mysterio in WWE. Regarding Gunther, Punk has wrestled him at WWE live events, but they have yet to have a singles match on television.
