CM Punk To Challenge For The Intercontinental Championship
During the house show in Liverpool on August 23, CM Punk will challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship.
Mysterio became the IC Champion at WrestleMania 41 and recently defended the belt successfully at SummerSlam against AJ Styles.
As for CM Punk, this will be the first time in 16 years that he contests for the Intercontinental Championship.
In January 2009, he defeated William Regal in a No Disqualification match in his hometown of Chicago to win his first and only IC belt.
He held on to it for 49 days before dropping it to John Bradshaw Layfield.
