CM Punk Challenged By NJPW Wrestler

CM Punk is coming back to AEW and one New Japan Pro Wrestling star had made it clear he’s free on the night of Punk’s return.

When it comes to CM Punk, KENTA is a guy that isn’t afraid to comment on whatever Punk is doing. That’s because, for most of the last twenty years, Punk has been using the Go To Sleep (GTS) rising knee to the face as a finishing move.

While the move looks absolutely devastating, it was actually created by KENTA, who is actually the man that is credited for creating the GTS move.

During the May 31st episode of AEW Dynamite, the company’s CEO/President/General Manager Tony Khan announced that on the debut episode of AEW Collision on June 17th in Chicago, CM Punk will be making his AEW return.

It will be the first time Punk appears on an AEW show since All Out in September 2022 when Punk won the AEW World Title for the second time. That same night also saw Punk tear his triceps during the match he had, go on a press conference rant, and get in a backstage fight. Due to the injury, Punk missed about eight months, so there was no rush for AEW to bring him back.

On Twitter, KENTA commented on AEW’s Punk announcement by writing: “I’m free on June 17th.”

This isn’t the first time that KENTA has taken to social media to call out CM Punk since he wrote an expletive phrase about Punk in 2021. In February, KENTA commented on how Punk was at a NJPW show and that he hoped Punk enjoyed the real (KENTA version) of the GTS move.
