CM Punk Thinks It’s Brilliant That Triple H Can Miss WWE Shows

Triple H CM Punk

CM Punk is delighted to be part of WWE’s bold new world.

Ever since Triple H took control of WWE, the company has undergone several dramatic changes. Perhaps the biggest is actually the lack of late and dramatic changes in the hours before and often during tapings favoured by Vince McMahon.

Meanwhile, the company has become much more flexible with giving talent time off as well as dramatically cutting back its live event schedule. In the past, stars were expected to attend tapings and live events regardless of what was going on in their personal lives, but that’s now changed.

CM Punk Applauds Triple H For Taking Time Off

During an appearance on the My Mom’s Basement podcast with Robbie Fox, Punk discussed how WWE had changed in the years he was away from the company. He praised Triple H for taking time off for family commitments, saying that tapings are just fine without him.

Triple H, obviously, is sitting in the chair, and he’s the boss. But one of the aspects that I really love about this brave new WWE that I’ve come back to is, you know, if he’s got like a daddy-daughter dance, he’s not at TV. And I find that to be so amazingly brilliant. Like, yeah, go hang out with your kid. Like, go have those moments. Like, we’ll be fine. We’ll get through.

During the same interview, CM Punk revealed that he reached an agreement to return to WWE in 2019. For the first time, Punk lifted the lid on a secret meeting he held with McMahon in Atlantic City, which ended with the pair shaking hands on a deal.

However, in the days after the meeting, McMahon ghosted Punk, and it would be another four years until he returned to the company. He noted that Triple H was also involved in the meeting, and that began a thawing of tension between the pair.

Despite his meeting with McMahon, it would be two more years until Punk wrestled again after signing with AEW.
