CM Punk Reacts To Becoming 7-Time WWE World Champion

CM Punk WWE World Champion

CM Punk has commented on how it feels to be WWE World Champion again.

Seth Rollins was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion after cashing in Money in the Bank on CM Punk at SummerSlam in early August, which meant Punk only held the World Title for about five minutes.

At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, the World Title was up for grabs because Rollins vacated it after suffering a shoulder injury. CM Punk beat Jey Uso in a competitive match and became WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the 7th time after using the GTS multiple times.

One day after winning the World Title in Salt Lake City, hockey fan Punk went to the Utah Mammoth’s NHL game against Tampa Bay and spoke to Nick Olczyk about it.

“I won the title here last night and happy accident I get to come watch some hockey today so I’m enjoying my day off.”

“Every Day Has Been A Dream” – CM Punk On WWE Return

It was two years ago this month when CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series after nearly a decade away from the company. When asked how he has felt about his return, Punk said it’s been like a dream and expressed his gratitude to be back in WWE.

“It’s just every day’s been a dream, honestly. Every day’s gratitude. Obviously, I love hockey so much I kind of draw the parallels between my wrestling career and hockey and I’m the old guy in the room now.

I’m just happy I get to lace up my skates and have the privilege to be able to walk the locker room and the halls with a lot of talented young stars and seeing all the fans, all the places I’ve been all around the world multiple times, getting to revisit stuff and see the young and the old all love wrestling. It’s great. It’s been a dream.”

Next up for CM Punk is WWE Monday Night Raw in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, on November 3rd as he celebrates his championship, while also possibly finding out who may be coming for his title.

According to WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, there’s a new landscape in WWE with CM Punk as the World Heavyweight Champion.
