CM Punk Avoids Injury In Freak Accident After WWE Raw Ends
CM Punk had a lucky escape after Raw went off the air as he nearly injured himself in a very bizarre way.
CM Punk was screwed out of the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash in Paris by Becky Lynch, who delivered a vicious low blow. Lynch’s actions ensured that her husband Seth Rollins was able to hit his Stomp and retain his title.
It didn’t take Punk long to find backup in his fight with both Rollins and Lynch as his wife AJ Lee made her return to WWE after more than a decade away from the company.
On the September 8th edition of Raw, all four competitors came face-to-face as a huge mixed tag team match was made official for Wrestlepalooza on September 20th. That match will be Lee’s first in a WWE ring since the Raw after WrestleMania 31, where she teamed with Paige and Naomi to defeat The Bellas and Natalya.
After Raw went off the air, AJ Lee and CM Punk played to the crowd, but as they made their exit from the ring, things almost went very wrong. Punk tried to leave the ring in the manner best associated with Kane and Ron Simmons, but his hand seemed to miss the ring apron, leading to him smashing his back hard into the edge of the ring. Thankfully for all concerned, Punk was able to jog off the impact of the unintended bump.

CM Punk Might Have Avoided Disaster
Shawn Michaels infamously suffered a severe back injury during a Casket Match with The Undertaker at the 1998 Royal Rumble. That injury was the one which kept Michaels out of the ring for four years.
In September 1998, The British Bulldog landed on a trapdoor that had been set up in the ring for The Ultimate Warrior’s surprise WCW debut. As a result, Bulldog suffered a spinal infection that kept him in the hospital for six months.
