Why CM Punk Almost Confronted Fan With A Baseball Bat
CM Punk was ready to make a fan “go to sleep” with a baseball bat for getting a little too personal with him.
As a famous pro wrestler for nearly 30 years, CM Punk has had a lot of interesting fan interactions in his career as a future WWE Hall of Famer.
Since CM Punk was a top heel in WWE, he likely had a lot of angry fans to deal with because of what he said or did. While in a babyface role, that also means some fans are overly excited when they see somebody like him.
In a video on GQ’s YouTube channel, former 5-time WWE World Champion CM Punk answered fan questions to promote the WWE Wrestlepalooza PLE. When Punk was asked about the craziest interaction he’s had with a fan, Punk told this unique story.
“I heard my mail slot jingling and I was expecting I don’t know…a check probably in the mail. I ran downstairs and I looked down my flight of stairs and I didn’t know exactly what I was seeing. Upon further inspection, I went around, I opened up my window and I looked outside onto the street and there was a fan shoving something into my mail slot. And I was like: ‘This can’t be good.’
So I grabbed my Louisville Slugger (baseball bat), I walked downstairs and I’m thinking I’m going to open this door and confront this person. Essentially, what they did was they jammed an entire Easter basket into my one-inch by five-inch mail slot, so it’s a bunch of green garland, half-melted chocolate peeps.
There’s been many, many crazy interactions with fans – that one sticks out because why? Why? Stop it. Behave yourselves.”
CM Punk Is Excited To See AJ Lee Back In A WWE Ring
One of the most anticipated matches at WWE Wrestlepalooza will see CM Punk team up with his wife, AJ Lee, against Seth Rollins and his wife, Becky Lynch. It is AJ’s first WWE match in over ten years, so when Punk was asked about teaming up with his wife, he said he was obviously excited about it.
“I’m biased obviously. Uh, but before I was uh Mr. Mendez, before I was AJ’s husband, uh, I was a fan, you know, so it’s exciting for me as a wrestling fan to be able to experience all these things with the fans because her coming back after 10 years was a pretty big deal.
I think in the landscape of wrestling there, after I came back and, you know, hell froze over, there was one free agent, uh in in that kind of uh orbit that could have done the same numbers or possibly even bigger numbers than me, and it was her. So, I’m excited.”
