CM Punk Advertised For Big WWE Live Event

CM Punk WWE

CM Punk will be wrestling at a non-televised event, which is a rare thing for the former WWE Champion.

The last time CM Punk stepped into a WWE ring was at the Bad Blood PLE in Atlanta. That was the night when Punk had a bloody battle with his longtime WWE rival Drew McIntyre inside the demonic Hell in a Cell structure.

That Punk-McIntyre Hell in a Cell match has been praised by fans and critics alike as one of the best matches of the year that also capped off what many people think is the best rivalry of the year.

On the WWE Raw episode after Bad Blood, Punk made it known to the fans that he was taking a break to recover from the match along with his personal rivalry with McIntyre. Punk had a staredown with Seth Rollins before he left.

Now that the WWE Crown Jewel PLE is in the books, Punk is expected back on WWE television soon although no return date has been confirmed.

The good news for fans of New York City is that CM Punk is likely going to wrestle at a WWE live event on the day after Christmas, December 26th in New York City. Other big names advertised for the show are stars of Raw including World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, Liv Morgan, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Drew McIntyre and more.

That will be CM Punk’s first WWE live event match this year. Punk has only wrestled four matches in WWE this year due to tearing his triceps in the Royal Rumble, which led to a lengthy rehab process that cost him over six months of action.

CM Punk Looking To Face New Opponents Along With Familiar Rivals

As for who he wants to face in the WWE ring in the future, CM Punk picked out some big names from his past while also mentioning some wrestlers he has never faced before.

“It’s a fair mix of people that I’ve already been in the ring with and people I haven’t. Getting back in the ring with guys like Rey Mysterio or John Cena, Randy (Orton), Cody (Rhodes). There is fun stuff to do there.”

“Then there is the crop of people that I’ve never been in the ring with. Chad Gable is one that really sticks out. I like watching (Ludwig) Kaiser. I think he’s pretty incredible. Gunther, obviously. It’s a fair mix of people I have existed with in the past and people I haven’t even been on-screen with. I did some dark matches with Dominik and I think I could do some pretty great television with him. Him and Liv are spectacular.”

Perhaps CM Punk will face Damian Priest at MSG since he did mention him as well.

“Damian Priest is another one. I got a loose promise with him that me and him are going to main event the Garden. He was supposed to main event the Garden with a dark match, he had really bad flight trouble and didn’t make it. I owe him that. The answer is everybody.”

The next WWE PLE is Survivor Series on November 30th, so fans will have to tune into Raw to see if Punk will be a part of that show.
