Major Claim Made About Potential Roman Reigns Move To AEW
Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE since April.
The Original Tribal Chief has been the top superstar in the Stamford-based company in recent years. However, he has transitioned into a part-time in-ring competitor. Recent reports even suggested he has become a special attraction, a position similar to Brock Lesnar’s.
On a recent episode of the Drive Thru podcast, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette discussed a hypothetical scenario where the former Undisputed WWE Champion would move to AEW.
The 63-year-old pointed out that while he believes there is no possibility of that happening, Reigns would have a tough time finding credible opponents in Tony Khan’s promotion.
You’d have the problem, if Roman Reigns, regardless of what you called him, showed up tomorrow in AEW, who could he work with to draw money? He’d be in the same position as The Hurt Syndicate.
There’s no tag teams that would be credible. [That’s who he could work with.] Well, but theey’re set up as a tag team. The point I’m making is you have almost nobody there that would be credible against a guy the level of Roman Reigns.
Could Roman Reigns Face Jon Moxley In AEW?
Jim Cornette also discussed the possibility of having Roman Reigns face Jon Moxley if he joins AEW. Moxley currently holds the AEW World Championship.
The wrestling veteran noted that Moxley would be the only credible opponent for Reigns in Tony Khan’s promotion due to his history with The OTC as previous Shield teammates.
Moxley’s their World Champion. Can you see that match? Well, that’s right cuz they’re old compadres before Moxley flunked out of the big leagues. [2:14 onwards]
