City That Was Promised WWE WrestleMania Doesn’t Know When They Will Host It
The city of Indianapolis is wondering when it will get to host WWE WrestleMania.
It seems that WWE really likes Indianapolis, as they were able to host two WWE PLEs this year, which is rare for a single city. The Royal Rumble took place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, and when WWE decided to add a September 20th PLE, Indianapolis hosted that at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
In June 2024, a significant announcement was made by WWE owner TKO Group and the city of Indianapolis to host the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, and SummerSlam in the coming years.
“WWE, part of TKO Group Holdings, and Indiana Sports Corp today announced a first-of-its-kind partnership that will bring WWE’s three largest stadium events – WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble – to Indianapolis.
Kicking off with Royal Rumble on February 1, 2025, Lucas Oil Stadium will host all three Premium Live Events including a two-night SummerSlam and two-night WrestleMania in future years.
Additionally, Raw, SmackDown, NXT and WWE Live Events will emanate from arenas across Indiana, including Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Evansville throughout the partnership.”
We already know that Las Vegas will host WrestleMania 42, marking their second consecutive year hosting it, despite WWE initially announcing it would be in New Orleans.
WrestleMania 43 in 2027 will be in Saudi Arabia for the first WrestleMania event outside of the United States and Canada.
The city of Minneapolis will be hosting SummerSlam 2026 over two nights on August 1 and 2, so Indianapolis will be waiting to host SummerSlam as well.
Indianapolis Officials Are Wondering When They Will Get To Host WWE WrestleMania
Fightful Select reports that sources near the deal in Indianapolis have “no clue” when they will actually get to host WrestleMania.
Although it’s not yet known when Indianapolis will host WrestleMania and SummerSlam, “the relationship with WWE is positive following the WrestlePalooza event,” according to Fightful.
As for New Orleans, Fightful was informed by WWE sources that they will host a WrestleMania again, but the exact date is unknown. There is also a bit of skepticism with one source stating they’d “believe it when they see it” regarding New Orleans as a WrestleMania host.
