Major City To Host WWE Survivor Series For First Time

WWE boss Triple H

WWE Survivor Series is returning to California.

Survivor Series has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years after fan interest had begun to fall flat. In 2022, Sami Zayn officially joined The Bloodline, and a year later, CM Punk made his stunning WWE return in Chicago after being fired by AEW.

The most recent edition of the long-running event was headlined by the battle for Bloodline supremacy as Roman Reigns teamed up with CM Punk and The Usos to defeat Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Bronson Reed.

But what’s coming for 2025?

According to a new report from Fightful Select, San Diego is being considered as the host city for the event. Furthermore, at least two sources have suggested that the location has been listed internally for some time.

Fightful added that while a date hasn’t been confirmed, Survivor Series has been held on Thanksgiving weekend for the last two years. If the event does head to San Diego, it’ll be the first time it’s landed in a “warm weather city” since it was held in Los Angeles in 2018.

WWE Backlash Details Confirmed

The report comes after it was announced that WWE Backlash would return on May 10. The event is set to come live from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri, with appearances from John Cena and Randy Orton already confirmed.

This is the first time the event has been held in the United States since 2022, when it landed in Providence, Rhode Island. In 2023, the event was held in Puerto Rico, and in 2024, it made its way to Lyon, France.
