Chyna Threatened To “End” Stephanie McMahon’s Life

Chyna makes her entrance at WWE Royal Rumble 1999

The late Chyna had known issues with Stephanie McMahon during her stay in WWE – but the tension between them was more extreme than first thought.

Spending four years with the then-World Wrestling Federation, Chyna enjoyed a successful, albeit short, career. ‘The Ninth Wonder of the World’ was aligned with D-Generation X for the majority of her tenure, joining real-life partner Triple H.

Triple H, of course, then went on to date and subsequently marry Stephanie McMahon, with rumours suggesting they became romantically involved while ‘The King of Kings’ was still seeing Chyna. Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash, a close friend of Triple H’s for decades, alleged that Chyna wanted to end Stephanie’s life:

“There was some tension, I think. Joanie [Laurer] said she was going to end Stephanie’s life. It was f*cked up.”

Following her on-screen separation from DX, Chyna was involved in a number of storylines, holding both the Women’s and Intercontinental Championships. To this day, she remains the only female holder of a male-dominated championship, excluding the 24/7 Championship.

She left the company in November 2001, alleging that Vince McMahon had sent her home and later sent her a fax relieving her of her WWF commitments. Brief stints in Japan and IMPACT Wrestling ended the controversial star’s in-ring career. Sadly, the real-life Joanie Laurer passed away in April 2016 at the age of just 46.
