Chris Masters Addresses Possibility Of Returning To WWE

Chris Masters has spoken about what would attract him to potentially going back to WWE some day if the opportunity ever arises for the Masterpiece.

When “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters debuted on WWE Raw in 2005, he was just 22 years old. Masters stood out from the pack due to his incredible physique that would lead to him doing a muscle pose routine while also using a full nelson finisher known as the Masterlock.

Masters had two stints on the WWE main roster from early 2005 to late 2007. Masters had another WWE run from 2009 to 2011 as well.

While Masters was not a consistent main event performer in WWE, he did headline Survivor Series 2005 on Team Raw and was also in the Elimination Chamber match at New Year’s Revolution 2006 that went on last before Edge cashed in Money in the Bank on John Cena.

During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on Youtube,

“I’ve never even thought about going back to WWE, honestly, because, and it’s not out of anything bitter. It’s just, you know, I had a couple of runs there and it ended the way it did. And, you know, I just realized that my love is for professional wrestling even if it’s not with WWE. But you know, with everything that I’ve learned in the last couple of years and then also seen Shelton, Carlito, MVP all my buddies you know, I finally started you know, looking at it and it was more out of this what you just mentioned.”

“It was more not out of Chris Masters coming back, it was more out of because I remember getting in touch with that young wrestling fan. I remember what is it that we’re always looking for? We’re looking for that oh sh*t moment you know, I mean, like that Ultimate Warrior comeback at WrestleMania 8. It’s not to say anything I could do can measure to that but the Bobby Lashley scenario is fascinating because I haven’t been there for so long though.”

What Masters was referencing regarding Bobby Lashley is the use of their finishing moves. Masters had the Masterlock (Full Nelson) that Lashley currently uses in WWE called the Hurt Lock.

Since leaving WWE, the 40-year-old Masters has mostly used the name Chris Adonis in promotions like TNA/Impact Wrestling and the NWA.
