Chris Jericho’s Current Relationship With WWE Revealed Amid Return Rumors
Chris Jericho has been absent from AEW television since April 2025, when he quietly ended his “Learning Tree” faction. His AEW contract extends through December 2025, with several months still remaining.
Jericho recently fueled WWE return rumors by liking a social media post suggesting a comeback to WWE. Adding to the buzz, he shared a nostalgic photo on August 19, 2025, from a 2002 WWE tour featuring The Rock and other legends, thanking The Rock for sending him the picture.
Although on hiatus for his band Fozzy’s 25th anniversary tour, Chris Jericho has not officially announced any plans for a WWE return. While speculation grows, The Demo God maintains good relations with WWE, keeping the door open for future possibilities, even as AEW remains his current home.
Fightful Select reports that WWE insiders are downplaying Jericho’s return rumors. While Jericho remains on good terms with WWE’s top officials and talent speculate about his comeback, his name has not surfaced in any recent creative meetings. According to sources within WWE, it is currently premature to determine whether a return will occur, and there have been no discussions regarding the matter within WWE’s creative team.
