Chris Jericho’s WWE Return May Hinge On One Demand; It’s Not Money
Y2J has been rumoured to return to WWE, but he may reasons not to.
Chris Jericho’s possible return to the Stamford-based promotion has been much anticipated. The 55-year-old could well be on the final lap of his career, and fans would love to see him retire in the promotion that helped him shoot to stardom.
Jericho has a penchant for creatively reinventing himself and his wrestling personas with the changing times. Every character he has played, like Y2J, The Painmaker, and Le Champion, has been rich in substance, getting well over with fans.
His comedic talents and distinguished mic skills match his excellent work in the ring, making him an all-rounder. Chris Jericho was last seen on AEW TV as the leader of the faction The Learning Tree before disbanding it and leaving in April 2025.
Vince Russo Reveals Possible Reason That Chris Jericho Won’t Return To WWE
Speaking on the Coach and Bro podcast, Vince Russo said that all the money in the world couldn’t tempt Jericho to come back to WWE. He strongly feels that the real reason Chris Jericho won’t come back could be because of how WWE creative is at the moment, and he wouldn’t entrust the final few years of his career to CCO Triple H, especially after the controversial way in which WWE Icon John Cena’s retirement tour ended.
If Jericho is watching like us Coach, it’s gotta be that creative control. He can’t let Triple H do that to him on his way out. I don’t think all the money in the world be worth it to Chris (Jericho). Chris doesn’t need the money. He has a legacy. Anybody that sees what just happened (with John Cena), man, if you’re gonna put your last couple of years in Triple H’s hands? I don’t see Jericho doing it. I just don’t.
