Massive Update On Chris Jericho’s Rumored WWE Return
Chris Jericho is with AEW currently.
There is ongoing speculation that Jericho may return to WWE once his AEW contract expires at the end of 2025. Many fans and industry insiders expect him to make a possible surprise appearance in early 2026, potentially at the Royal Rumble or during WrestleMania season.
This belief intensified in the last few months as Chris Jericho liked social media posts hinting at a WWE comeback, and several WWE personnel, including some active wrestlers, have expressed interest in seeing The Demo God back in the company.
Jericho himself has stated he isn’t opposed to the idea of returning to WWE, explaining that he would consider it based on the right circumstances. He still maintains good relations with WWE and generally has kept the doors open with both major promotions. Moreover, his absence from AEW TV programming has only added fuel to the fire.
Is Chris Jericho Heading To WWE
Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer recently provided an update on the Chris Jericho situation, stating that people in WWE are positive that Jericho will return to the company. He suggested that if that were true, Y2Jwould likely keep his return plans a secret to surprise his fans.
“I will say this, people in WWE believe that he’s coming to WWE. For what that’s worth. That’s not a new story. I mean that’s been said before. .. If he debuts at the Royal Rumble, which is something that’s been rumored for actually a while, you know work the Rumble to Mania or something, Hall of Fame, all that stuff. I think that if that happens, he’s not going to be saying it and he’ll want it to be a surprise,” Meltzer said.
Elsewhere, WON’s Dave Meltzer blamed the AEW fans for Chris Jericho possibly leaving Tony Khan’s company to return to AEW.
If he does go, the reason would be the AEW fans, for better or for worse. I think he was never planning on going back [to WWE], always leaving the door open because obviously he should. He knows the lay of the land; he’s a smart guy. You never burn that bridge.
