Chris Jericho Fuels WWE Return Rumors With Popular Reunion

Chris Jericho makes his entrance in AEW.

Chris Jericho is doing little to dampen speculation around his future.

In recent months, speculation has been growing around Chris Jericho and his AEW future. Or lack of a future.

According to several outlets, Jericho is highly unlikely to return to AEW television and will instead sign with WWE when his current contract expires. It’s believed that Jericho’s AEW deal expires in December. At least in theory, this leaves Jericho free to make his big comeback as part of the 2026 Royal Rumble.

Jericho hasn’t wrestled for WWE since competing in the Greatest Royal Rumble in April 2018 in Saudi Arabia. However, his full-time run with the company had ended the year before.

As noted in one report, WWE’s pitch to Jericho would include a match at WrestleMania and a Hall of Fame induction.

Jericho hasn’t featured for AEW since walking out on The Learning Tree on the April 7 episode of Dynamite.

Chris Jericho Reunites With Best Friend

In a move that immediately got fans talking, Jericho has now shared a photo with Kevin Owens at the NHL match between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Dallas Stars. In a nod to their time in WWE, he captioned it “Best Friends!”

Jericho and Owens teamed together in 2016 and into 2017 before their relationship fell apart. Things came to a head at the ‘Festival of Friendship’ on Raw, where Owens finally turned his back on his friend.

This led to a match between the pair at WrestleMania 33. Jericho later claimed that WWE’s handling of this match led him to leave the company.
