Chris Jericho Says WWE Had Jay White On A “Silver Platter”

Chris Jericho

Jay White recently put an end to the speculation over his wrestling future as he signed with AEW and Chris Jericho thinks the company has got a real star on its hands.

On April 5th, Jay White surprised many people when he appeared on AEW Dynamite and joined forces with Juice Robinson. White’s status as a free agent lasted for a few months after he lost a Loser Leaves Japan match to Hikuleo on February 11th followed by a Loser Leaves New Japan Pro Wrestling match against Eddie Kingston a week later. During that time speculation grew that Switchblade would be joining WWE but that did not transpire.

Speaking to Tim and Eli on Battleground, Chris Jericho noted that White choosing AEW over WWE should tell the world exactly what’s going on with Tony Khan’s company:

“Jay White, what a great example of us still having momentum. Hottest free agent in the world. Silver platter for WWE. The guy is 6’4”, he’s international, he has the accent, which chicks love. He’s a great worker, great heel, great babyface. He chose AEW.

“If that doesn’t tell you that something is going on with us, I don’t know what will. Just to continue to build that momentum is a very exciting prospect.”

Another exciting prospect for AEW is that of trying to sell 90,000 tickets for All In at Wembley Stadium in London, England in August.
