Chris Jericho Believes WWE Icon May Have Sabotaged Triple H Match
AEW star Chris Jericho has explained why he thinks a WWE icon purposely sabotaged a match involving Triple H to get back at him.
At Fully Loaded in 2000, Chris Jericho and Triple H’s feud reached new heights when the two men faced off in a Last Man Standing match. The match would have seen the men utilise the much-destroyed Spanish announce table but it was used – despite warnings backstage – in the match before Jericho and The Game faced off. That match happened to be between Triple H’s ex-girlfriend Chyna and Perry Saturn.
Speaking on his Talk Is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho explained that he thinks due to their relationship troubles, Chyna may have tried to sabotage Triple H’s bout:
“There was a big sign in Gorilla position that said: Stay away from the Spanish announce table. The producers said it. The agents said it. Everybody said it. There’s a sign in Guerilla, stay away, and the match before us was Chyna versus Perry Saturn, and guess what Chyna did not do? She did not stay away.”
“They hit this table and collapsed it, and something in my head says that maybe she might have done that on purpose because it was her ex-boyfriend that was in the next match. Maybe, I don’t know.”
Chris Jericho then explained how he and Triple H only had five minutes to come up with a new finish for their match, and they still used a commentary table but it was the one that Jim Ross and Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler were calling the action from.
