Chris Jericho Says WWE Hall Of Famer Came Up With All In Entrance
Chris Jericho has revealed all about his very special All In entrance.
Chris Jericho competed on the biggest wrestling show of his career when he battled Will Ospreay in Wembley Stadium at All In. Jericho’s entrance was sure to be a highlight for the crowd and AEW leaned into the singalong by having Fozzy play and Jericho sing himself to the ring along with 81,035 fans.
Speaking on his Talk Is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho revealed that it was actually WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley – also known as Bully Ray – who had the idea of Fozzy playing him to the ring in Wembley while AEW’s Ortiz threw in the idea of a tribute to Queen’s Freddie Mercury:
“Bubba Dudley, months ago said, ‘You should have Fozzy play you to the ring.’ I was like, ‘Seriously? You think so?’ He was like, ‘You gotta do it’ so, Bubba came up with the idea of Fozzy singing, me singing myself to the ring with Fozzy and Ortiz came up with the idea of me doing the Freddie Mercury ay-ohs so, not a lot of creativity or originality from Chris Jericho on that ring entrance (he laughed). That just came from my friends…”
Chris Jericho lost out at All In
Despite the fans being thrilled to sing Judas along with Chris Jericho, that is where the goodwill towards him in Wembley Stadium ended as he went up against English star Will Ospreay. Ospreay continued his terrific 2023 by picking up a win over Jericho with questions remaining over the star’s long-term future when his deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling expires.
Ospreay will be back in the UK for NJPW Royal Quest in October and again two weeks later when he competes for IMPACT Wrestling on their Turning Point special.
