Chris Jericho Went Off-Script During Iconic WWE Segment

Chris Jericho has been making the headlines for supposedly coming back to WWE after his AEW contract expires. However, it remains a speculation at best.

Given that there is no smoke without fire, there have been hints that maybe Jericho is headed for the global juggernaut. That being said, fans have been revisiting the time when he was one of the top superstars in WWE.

Recently, James Ellsworth spoke with R3 Jonah on Rewind Recap Relive. Ellsworth spoke about the Survivor Series 2016 build-up between the RAW and SmackDown.

During that, Jericho put Ellsworth on the list for being “weird” looking. Ellsworth revealed Jericho had gone off-script during that moment.

Sometimes I’ll be in like Target or Walmart and somebody [will] yell, ‘You just made the list.’ I get reminded of that moment every day of my life. I remember right before we walked out, Jericho walked up to me. He said, ‘Hey, James, I don’t know if we have time for this, but I’m going to put you on the list. So, if we go over time because I’m going to put you on the list, blame it on me, tell them it was my fault.’

I’m like, ‘What?’ Because it wasn’t in the script, for me to get put on the list, and he went out there, and it’s funny. I think it’s the most memorable list moment of all time. [H/t: Fightful]

Has Chris Jericho already returned to WWE?

A masked mystery man interrupted the men’s WarGames match, enabling the heels to secure the win over the babyfaces. Since that moment, the fans and analysts have wondered about the identity of the masked man.

Ex-manager Dutch Mantell claimed that it could be Chris Jericho. However, during the podcast, his co-host pointed out that WWE wouldn’t even need to bring in Chris Jericho in the flesh to do the Curb Stomp. A body-double or stuntman could have posed as the mystery man. WWE will only need to bring in Jericho once they make the revelation, which can be done after the AEW contract expires.
