Chris Jericho Drops Undeniable WWE Return Tease
Chris Jericho chose an interesting song to share on social media, amid rumors of a WWE return.
The last time Chris Jericho appeared on AEW television was in April at the Dynasty PPV. For nearly eight months, the former AEW World Champion has been away from the company and may never return.
While AEW’s Owner, Tony Khan, has said all the right things about Jericho and clearly wants him to come back, it seems as though the man once known as Y2J has other ideas in mind.
As the months went on, there has been speculation that the former 6-time WWE World Champion Jericho could return “home” to the company where he spent nearly 20 years from August 1999 until the late 2010s.
Following the TNA Bound for Glory PLE in October, Chris Jericho added to the WWE return speculation by claiming TNA Bound For Glory made the promotion like the 2nd biggest promotion in the world, while also taking a shot at AEW running small buildings like the old ECW Arena in Philly.
The reaction after those comments was, if he was still loyal to AEW and would return to work there, then why would he trash the company like that? The TNA promotion is also interesting since they have a working agreement with WWE, which again leads people to think Jericho is WWE-bound.
Chris Jericho Shares Classic WWE Theme Song On Social Media
As one of the biggest WWE stars of the Attitude Era, Jericho will always remain popular with a certain generation of fans who likely have grey in their beards just like he does now.
During his WWE run, Jericho used the classic “Break The Walls Down” theme song that will generate a huge response if he ever steps foot in a WWE ring again.
With that in mind, Jericho shared his “Break The Walls Down” theme song in a post on TikTok while writing: “You just had to be there….. #chrisjericho #wrestlinghistory #wrestlingcommunity #wrestlingtok”
Regarding his potential WWE return, a report on the situation revealed that WWE has offered Chris Jericho a deal that includes a retirement storyline for the 55-year-old legend, which would lead to an obvious WWE Hall of Fame induction.
Jericho’s AEW deal is rumored to expire at the end of 2025, which is just 25 days away. Many people are predicting Jericho’s WWE return at the Royal Rumble on January 31st, but that hasn’t been confirmed, and may remain a secret until it actually happens. In recent comments, Chris Jericho made it clear he’s not done yet.
“Well, you never know, man. That’s the thing is — I’m not done yet. So, still figuring out everything and we’ll see where I end up. But I’m pretty sure you’ll see me in 2026 in a wrestling ring somewhere.”
