Chris Jericho On Tony Khan’s Social Media Use: “He Can Do What He Wants”

Chris Jericho isn’t about to tell Tony Khan what he can put on social media.

NXT and AEW Dynamite recently went head-to-head in the ratings on a big night of wrestling action. WWE stacked its show with the likes of John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and The Undertaker appearing while Dynamite featured the first AEW match of Adam Copeland in addition to two big title matches.

When all was said and done, NXT came out on top in the ratings, leading Tony Khan to take to social media and offer an obscure statistic about Cena and The Undertaker appearing on a WWE show that had less than a million average viewers for the first time. That caused many to question if Khan was wasting his time by fixating on his competition.

Chris Jericho says “You can’t control Tony Khan”

Speaking to The Messenger, Chris Jericho made very clear that he thinks Tony Khan can say what he wants on social media and he’s certainly not about to tell him to put his phone away:

“I learned years ago that bosses are going to be bosses, and billionaires are going to be billionaires. I’ve been working for billionaires for 25 years. At this point, you can’t control Tony Khan. He’s going to do what he wants to do and God bless him.

“He created this company. He runs this company. He also grew up in the social media era. I’m not going to tell him, ‘Take your phone away,’ because he’s my boss. Say what you want. Whatever. I think it’d be worse if I said that stuff because I’m not the boss, you know? Tony Khan owns AEW. He can do what he wants. I’m not going to tell him no.”

Tony Khan frequently uses social media to promote AEW shows and matches and it has been suggested that his controversial posts helped direct traffic to his page where fans could see his other posts advertising AEW shows.
