Chris Jericho Stuns Fans On AEW Dynamite

Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho left Mark Briscoe broken with a little help from his friends.

At WrestleDream, Mark Briscoe retained the ROH World Championship with a win over Chris Jericho as the rivalry between the pair became increasingly heated. While there was already no love lost between champion and challenger, Jericho mentioning Briscoe’s late brother on television tipped things over the edge.

Unsurprisingly, Briscoe’s win did little to calm the situation, and the duo met for a second time on the October 23rd episode of Dynamite, this time in a Ladder Match.

Briscoe appeared to be heading to victory after hitting a huge Froggy Bow from the top of a ladder to drive Jericho through a table. Jericho was then laid out with the Jay Driller, and Briscoe looked to climb the ladder after Rocky Romero had already chased off Brian Keith. However, Big Bill ran in through the crowd and Chokeslammed Briscoe from the ladder through two tables at ringside.

Bill subsequently scooped Jericho onto his shoulders and climbed the ladder to retrieve the ROH World Title.

After the match, Jericho and Bill were confronted by Romero and Tomohiro Ishii.

The victory means Jericho is a nine-time World Champion and two-time Ring of Honor World Champion.

Chris Jericho Wanted To Elevate Mark Briscoe

Speaking ahead of WrestleDream, Chris Jericho said the aim of his current run was to elevate Mark Briscoe. Jericho was responding to speculation about his future with some fans suggesting it might be time for him to retire.

However, Jericho said he has no plans to hang up his boots and will continue to wrestle as long as he can contribute at the highest level.

Jericho’s current contract expires in December 2025.
