Chris Jericho and Sting have agreed to a huge tag team match at the AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view in Toronto.

For the second week in a row, Sting and Chris Jericho met face to face in an AEW ring. The June 14th incident on Dynamite saw them have a staredown that saw them tease a bat attack on the other man, but nothing physical happened.

On the June 21st edition of AEW Dynamite in Chicago, Chris Jericho picked up a tag team match victory with Sammy Guevara & Minoru Suzuki against the team of Action Andretti, AR Fox and Darius Martin. Jericho got the win for his team with a Liontamer on Martin, who tapped out.

After the match, Jericho was asked about his showdown with Sting one week earlier. Jericho challenged Sting to a match at Forbidden Door in Toronto against Le Suzuki Gods (Jericho, Suzuki & Guevara). Jericho called Sting a coward and selfish, which is what led to the Stinger showing up with his buddy Darby Allin.

When Sting walked out to the ring, Jericho was angry and grumpy, so Sting tried to hug him. Sting said that he and Darby accept this lame challenge for a match. Darby said that Jericho made a lot of enemies in a lot of places so Allin said that they had a guy for Sunday. Jericho asked who is it? Allin said that Jericho will find out on Collision this Saturday.

It will be the first ever match for Chris Jericho and Sting. Even though they worked together in WCW at the same time in the late 1990s and for WWE in the 2010s, they never had a match together until this coming match at Forbidden Door on June 25th.

During his AEW career, Sting has amassed a 15-0 record with every one of those matches being a tag team match with Darby Allin as his partner.
