Chris Jericho Reunites With WWE Personality As Return Rumours Grow

Chris Jericho AEW

Chris Jericho has been spotted with a WWE talent as rumours of a return to the company continue to grow.

In recent weeks, reports have emerged linking Chris Jericho with a surprise return to WWE when his AEW deal expires in December. Although there’s been no official comment from WWE or Jericho, that hasn’t stopped fans dreaming up a return at the Royal Rumble, eventually leading to a Hall of Fame induction.

There might not have been discussions about the star in WWE creative meetings as yet, but several WWE Superstars reportedly want Chris Jericho back in the company.

Jericho has become something of a polarising figure with AEW fans through late 2024 and into 2025, but he played a major role in the success of the promotion’s early years. Jericho’s presence is credited with helping AEW land a TV deal, and he was the first-ever AEW World Champion.

Now, with rumours of a return to WWE on the cards, Chris Jericho has been spotted with WWE ring announcer Mike Rome.

Rome took to social media to share photos from his experience at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios, where he bumped into Chris Jericho.

Tony Khan Wants Chris Jericho To Stick With AEW

During the pre-ROH Death Before Dishonor media call, Tony Khan was asked about Jericho’s status and whether there were plans to bring him back to television:

For somebody that’s won nine world championships in the sport of pro-wrestling, Chris Jericho is – it’s incredible to say – but has achieved so much in so many different promotions, and when you talk about him, you could talk about companies all over the world, but certainly we wouldn’t be as fortunate to be in this position – I would never be where I am in AEW without Chris Jericho, nor would we be in a position where I could have bought ROH, so I’m very grateful to Chris.

I think the world of Chris, and I would love to have Chris back, and certainly he’s been a great, great star for us since the very beginning of AEW, and then here in ROH as well, as we talk about Death Before Dishonor and the great ROH events, Chris has come in and been involved in some great memorable matches.
