Chris Jericho Could Return To WWE In New Non-Wrestling Role

Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho could be on his way out of AEW with rumours bubbling of a return to WWE in the works, but could another role be waiting for him?

In recent weeks, reports have emerged linking Chris Jericho with a surprise return to WWE when his AEW deal expires in December. Although there’s been no official comment from WWE or Jericho, that hasn’t stopped fans dreaming up a return at the Royal Rumble, eventually leading to a Hall of Fame induction.

There might not have been discussions about the star in WWE creative meetings as yet, but several WWE Superstars reportedly want Chris Jericho back in the company. But could his return really happen without the veteran competing in the ring again?

Chris Jericho Not To Wrestle In WWE Return?

Speaking on Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the wrestling veteran explained why he thinks Chris Jericho could return to WWE but not as an active wrestler:

If it were me, I would be interested in him as an agent and/or a manager, or some kind of mouthpiece. In the ring, I think his better days are behind him, and I think we’ll even tell you the same thing.

Tony Khan recently broke his silence on the situation, and it seems the AEW boss is desperate to keep Chris Jericho All Elite:

I have so much respect for Chris and I think the world of him. The first time I ever set foot in 2300 Arena was actually Chris’ last night in ECW and it was very important to me because I’d been a fan of Chris since I was a very, very young kid. Since I was 12 years old I would count Chris among my very favorite wrestlers for the past 30 years, and I’m very fortunate to work with him.

So if and when the time presents itself, hopefully, would love to have Chris back, and I think the world of him, and Chris Jericho’s always in the highest of standing with me and with AEW and ROH, where he has been a great champion, a great ambassador, a great leader and a great friend to all of us, and Chris Jericho’s a huge part of our companies here. So thanks for asking.
