Chris Jericho Lays Out Plans For In-Ring Return In 2026

Chris Jericho entrance AEW Collision

Fans haven’t seen the last of Chris Jericho.

From the moment he took a break from AEW back in April, Chris Jericho has been linked with a return to WWE.

Since going on hiatus, several reports have claimed that Jericho has reached out to his former employer, and a potential deal is very much on the cards. It’s believed that Jericho’s deal with AEW expires before the end of 2025, at least in theory, leaving the way clear for a spectacular return at the 2026 Royal Rumble.

The latest report on the situation revealed that WWE has offered Chris Jericho a deal that includes a retirement storyline. As previously stated, many within the company expect him to re-debut in early 2026, although that feeling isn’t universal.

Chris Jericho Isn’t Retiring

During a new interview on the Tim Weisberg Show, Jericho gave the first major update on his future, confirming that he plans to return to the ring in 2026. When asked whether he’ll resume his wrestling career, the veteran adamantly stated that he’s not done yet.

“Well, you never know, man. That’s the thing is — I’m not done yet. So, still figuring out everything and we’ll see where I end up. But I’m pretty sure you’ll see me in 2026 in a wrestling ring somewhere.”

Despite Jericho seemingly on the verge of a return to WWE, The Young Bucks recently stated that they’d love to have the star stay in AEW.
