Chris Jericho Injured After Hard-Hitting AEW Match

Chris Jericho

AEW Dynamite saw a wild Blood & Guts match take place but it was another bout on the show that left Chris Jericho injured.

Prior to Forbidden Door, Chris Jericho had tried to recruit NJPW legend Minoru Suzuki to his trios team to face Samoa Joe, HOOK, and Katsuyori Shibata. Suzuki had other ideas, however, as he rejected Jericho’s approach and instead challenged Jericho to a match for his FTW Title.

On Dynamite Blood & Guts that match finally took place with Bryan Keith and Big Bill banned from ringside. Things quickly descended into a chop battle but Jericho claimed the upper hand with a low blow and dropped Suzuki with a Judas Effect to win the bout and retain his title but his win came at a cost.

Chris Jericho Counting Cost Of AEW Match

Taking to social media after the match, Chris Jericho claimed that he had been left injured as Minoru Suzuki broke his finger:

Even though I beat @suzuki.d.minoru and retained my #FTW Title on #AEWDynamite tonight….he is completely INSANE!! HE chopped me over 100 TIMES, dropped me on my HEAD, and he BROKE MY FINGER!!!! I promise you #Suzuki you PSYCHO…..this isn’t over!!! @aew #murdergrampa 🌳👋 #TheLearningTree

After the match, Bryan Keith and Big Bill swarmed Minoru Suzuki but they were quickly chased off by Katsuyori Shibata who shared a brief glance with his old NJPW rival Suzuki as they both left the ring separately.
