Chris Jericho Critical Of His Own Iconic WWE Moment

Chris Jericho WWE Point

The legendary Chris Jericho thinks one of the most memorable moments of his WWE career wasn’t as great as some other people might think.

For over five years, Chris Jericho has been All Elite as one of the biggest names in the history of All Elite Wrestling. Before his run with AEW, he spent nearly 20 full years with World Wrestling Entertainment.

Whether you like him or not, it’s hard to deny Jericho’s success in WWE as one of the greatest superstars in the history of the company. Whether he was a face or heel, Jericho was is one of the most decorated superstars ever who could do it all in the ring, on the microphone, and everywhere else.

After spending about three years in WCW, Jericho jumped to WWE in the summer of 1999, so this August is the 25th anniversary since his debut in the company. That debut happened on August 9, 1999, on WWE Monday Night Raw in Chicago.

That debut on Raw saw Jericho interrupt The Rock, who was doing a promo in the ring. While it didn’t lead to a big match between the two men, they did exchange words while the fans responded strongly to Jericho, who was a popular star in WCW even though he was a heel during most of his run in that company.

On his Talk Is Jericho podcast looking back on his 1999 WWE debut, Jericho spoke about how he liked it as a moment, but he was critical of his own promo.

“Watching it now, 25 years later, some might say that I’m a great promo. I don’t feel this was a great promo. I feel the moment was great. The way WWE orchestrated the moment was great. The way WWE built up the moment was great.”

“I feel my delivery was not quite up to snuff. I still look pretty killer. We’ve got that.”

Chris Jericho Has No Plans To Retire

The 53-year-old Jericho will turn 54 in November, but he has no plans to retire as a wrestler even though he’s been in the business for well over 30 years.

Chris Jericho made it clear in a recent interview that “it’s not the right time right now” while admitting that he’s still having fun.

Up next for Jericho is a big match at AEW All In on August 25th when he puts his FTW Title up for grabs against the former champion Hook, who is determined to end Jericho’s championship reign.
