Chris Jericho Comments On Chances Of Becky Lynch Joining AEW

Becky Lynch WWE

Chris Jericho has discussed the possibility of Becky Lynch signing with AEW.

There is a possibility, no matter how slim, that on the May 27th episode of Raw, Becky Lynch wrestled her last match for WWE. It’s no secret her current contract expires within days, and she’s yet to agree terms on a new deal.

This has sparked speculation that she could do the seemingly unthinkable, and jump ship to AEW.

During a new interview with TMZ Sports, Chris Jericho was asked about the possibility of Lynch becoming All Elite. Jericho is of course no stranger to jumping across the wrestling landscape having competed for ECW, WCW, WWE, NJPW, and finally AEW.

The veteran said that while he doesn’t know if Lynch will make the move, it can only be a good thing for the industry that she’s got options.

“It’s very important because the best thing that ever happened to pro wrestling in the modern era was AEW existing…

You mentioned Becky Lynch. Five years ago, Becky would have no other options. [I’m] Not saying that she’s coming, but there is an option. And who knows what could happen? You know, no one thought that Jericho would come to AEW, no one thought that Moxley would come, or Bryan Danielson, or Adam Cole, or any of these guys that have come over.

So it’s exciting for the fans. And it’s exciting for the wrestlers and the talent because now, suddenly, there’s a bidding war that benefits us. So I think it’s very important. And listen, that was one of the things of being in the Attitude Era, and the Monday Night Wars with Nitro and Raw, you never knew who was going to show up, right?

You know, and when somebody new would come from whatever side it was to the other, it made things so much more exciting, so many more matches that you can write so many more possibilities of seeing guys go up against each other that you never thought about. So it’s a really exciting time in wrestling. And that’s another reason why you got.”

What Next For Becky Lynch?

While Jericho would seemingly welcome the Irish star in AEW, the woman herself has largely stayed silent since being defeated by Liv Morgan on Raw. So naturally, speculation is running wild.

According to the most recent report on the situation, Becky Lynch will be taking a hiatus and isn’t in a rush to sign with WWE or AEW.

Despite this, it’s believed Lynch will eventually sign a new contract and return to WWE.
