Chris Jericho Breaks Silence After Shock GCW Attack
Chris Jericho has sent a warning to Matt Cardona after he ambushed the star in GCW.
Chris Jericho made a surprise appearance at GCW Highest in the Room 3 during Cardona’s bout against EFFY. The Learning Tree launched a vicious attack on Cardona with a baseball bat, handing the victory to EFFY.
However, the celebrations didn’t last long as Jericho immediately turned on EFFY, assaulting him with the bat and sending him out of the ring. With the damage done, Jericho exited the arena to a chorus of boos.
Now, the star has taken to Instagram to warn Cardona that he “always gets his man.” Cardona responded claiming the attack was “everything that is wrong with pro wrestling.”
“…Hi @themattcardona 👋🌳 you didn’t think that the King of New York would pop up in Los Angeles at your @gamechangerwrestling Indy Event, did you?
You made a big mistake forgetting who you’re dealing with……I always get my man!
See you at #rohfinalbattle. @aew@ringofhonor”
Chris Jericho Appearance Comes Despite AEW Animosity With GCW
Jericho’s run-in was especially surprising as AEW has pulled stars from multiple GCW appearances. Tensions between the promotions stem from EFFY making disparaging remarks about Tony Khan, as well as AEW’s upcoming shows at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
This seemingly resulted in Khan pulling Ricky Starks from several upcoming dates, while Willie Mack also cancelled appearances, although there is conflicting information on the reason behind this.
