Chelsea Green’s Smart Plan To Convince Triple H To Rehire Her
Chelsea Green is one of the most popular stars in WWE today.
But she did not achieve this status without her share of struggles.
Green was a prominent NXT figure between 2018 and 2020, resulting in her SmackDown debut in late 2020. However, a wrist injury kept her out of action for an extended period.
In April 2021, she was released from the company due to inactivity.
Recently appearing on the Lightweights Podcast, the Canadian stalwart recalled her time away from the company and how she planned her return to WWE.
I had to make sure the internet was constantly talking about me or Triple H would never hire me back., and that was always the goal. [46:57 onwards]
She recounted how her husband, Matt Cardona, had warned her about her release before she was fired, giving her enough time to regroup.
Green also spoke about securing an early release from the company, which was agreed to. It gave her the opportunity to explore Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling, as well as a few other independent promotions.
Chelsea Green Replaced In Queen Of The Ring Tournament
Being Chelsea Green comes with its own hurdles.
Green was scheduled to compete in a Queen of the Ring Tournament match on the latest SmackDown episode. However, she could not attend the show due to “missing a flight.”
She was seen on a video call with General Manager Nick Aldis, requesting to postpone the QOTR match. Aldis, however, replaced her with her Secret Hervice stablemate Alba Fyre.

Fyre faced Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and Candice LeRae. Bliss ultimately won the match, advancing to the semi-finals.
