Chelsea Green Reveals She Was Legitimately Warned About WWE Star
Chelsea Green recently revealed being warned about sharing the spotlight with an NXT star.
In early August, Green began appearing on WWE’s development brand, ultimately allying with the Men’s North American Champion Ethan Page.
On the August 5 taping, she interrupted a segment between Page and Tavion Heights, which kicked up a tag team feud with Tyra Mae Steele introduced into the mix.
The rivalry culminated in a match at NXT Heatwave, where Green and Page defeated the American Olympians.
Chelsea Green recently discussed being paired with her compatriot Ethan Page during an appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight.
She stated that she had no idea behind the team-up, as she knew nothing about the 36-year-old beforehand. She even revealed that as the weeks went by, he sister warned her about Page stealing her spotlight.
I would love to know. I have no clue. I don’t know. I got a call like the day before, being like, ‘Hey, you’re gonna come into NXT.’ I said, ‘Sure.’ I just assumed I was gonna have a singles match.
I showed up, and they said, ‘Oh, you’re gonna be with Ethan.’ And I’m like, ‘Ethan who?’ Then they said, ‘Ethan Page.’ I had to Google him, and then I was like, ‘Okay, I do know Ethan. He’s Canadian. I know him.’ But I didn’t really know anything about him.
I didn’t know anything, and now I’m like, yeah, duh. We belong together on screen. I think it’s perfect. My sister called me the other day to tell me that he’s stealing my spotlight, and I think that that is a perfect partnership.
A Storm Is Headed For Chelsea Green
Since winning the Women’s United States Championship on the November 7 episode of SmackDown, Chelsea Green has been running around, calling herself the best women’s champion in history.
Unfortunately for her, she has fallen on the radar of Jade Cargill, who is the current Women’s WWE Champion.
On November 28, Green had a celebration planned for her winning the US title, but it was interrupted by The Storm.
Cargill first took out Alba Fyre and then hit Green with her Jaded finisher. While Cargill has now taken out Chelsea Green, it will be interesting to see whether WWE books a singles match between them in the future.
