Chelsea Green Title Match Planned For WWE SmackDown
Chelsea Green’s first WWE Women’s US Title defense is happening SmackDown instead of another major show down the line.
The finals of the WWE Women’s United States Title tournament took place at the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event. In the match to determine the first champion, Chelsea Green defeated Michin with her Unpretty-her move off the turnbuckle.
Since then, Green has celebrated her championship and Michin has also beaten Green’s friend Piper Niven in a match.
That win by Michin over Niven likely means that Michin will get the first shot to win the Women’s US Title held by Green. According to Wrestlevotes on X, that title match is happening on the January 10th edition of SmackDown.
According to sources, Chelsea Green vs. Michin will take place tonight on #SmackDown. While there was discussion of holding their Women’s United States Championship rematch at SNME 2, we can confirm the title match is set for this evening in Portland.
As noted above, there were rumors that WWE might have the Green-Michin rematch at Saturday Night’s Main Event in San Antonio on January 25th, but apparently, WWE wants to do the match a lot sooner.
UPDATE: WWE officially announced the Green-Michin match on social media.
Not only does @ImChelseaGreen have to worry about defending her title against @MiaYim TONIGHT on #SmackDown, the champ just got on the bad side of @TheVibeBri… 😬

Chelsea Green Match Won’t Be Only Title Match On WWE SmackDown
There will be two US Title matches on SmackDown in Portland on January 10th because Shinsuke Nakamura will defend his US Title against LA Knight as well.
Nakamura beat Knight at Survivor Series in November and ever since then, Knight has been in pursuit of the champion while hoping for a rematch.
In addition to Knight facing Nakamura, WWE is promoting an appearance from Tiffany Stratton as the new WWE Women’s Champion after she cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Nia Jax on the first SmackDown episode of the year.
