Chelsea Green Thankful For Ex-WWE Star
Chelsea Green knows that a former WWE talent played a vital role in the success of the Women’s US Champion.
As the first ever and only Women’s US Champion in WWE history, Chelsea Green stands out as a character because of her willingness to have fun and be an over-the-top character.
While Green didn’t always win a lot of matches in her WWE career, she was given TV time in the last few years and she made the most of it.
Former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin left the company in October 2024 after admitting that she didn’t want to be a ring announcer. Irvin played a key role in Green’s development as a character because whenever Green entered the arena for a match, Irvin said “Chelsea Green” in a way that some might say is annoying, which fits Green as a character.
Even though Irvin is no longer part of WWE, other ring announcers like Alicia Taylor, Lilian Garcia (who just left Smackdown last week), and Mike Rome make it a point to say “Chelsea Green” in a cheesy way.
Chelsea Green Loves When Fans Say Her Name In A Unique Way
In a new interview with the Pro Wrestling Experience, the Women’s US Champion Chelsea Green spoke about how much she loves what Samantha Irvin did for her with the unique introductions and Green likes hearing it from fans too.
“All the time and I love it. It never gets old. I thank Samantha for everything that she did for my entrance because it is amazing. Seriously, like, whether you’re really good at doing it or really terrible, it gives me a feeling, and I love it.
That’s the whole point of wrestling, right? Like, the point is to feel something. Feel anything, whether it’s good or bad. Just feel something, and that’s what we get.”
Regarding her WWE future, Chelsea Green claimed that she wants to face WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella in a Hair vs. Hair match. Whether that match actually happens is unknown, but Green has put it out there as something she really wants to do.
