Chelsea Green Stunned By WWE Title Change On SmackDown

Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green can no longer claim to be the only Women’s US Champion because she lost her title on WWE SmackDown.

It was on December 14, 2024, when Chelsea Green became the first WWE Women’s United States Champion on Saturday Night’s Main Event. Since then, Green has found ways to retain her title, oftentimes thanks to help from her “Secret Hervice” allies, Piper Niven and Alba Fyre.

Unfortunately for Green, she suffered recent losses to Zelina Vega by countout, and on the SmackDown before WrestleMania, Vega beat Green with a Super Code Red off the turnbuckle.

Those wins by Vega earned her a Women’s US Title shot against Green on SmackDown in Fort Worth. While Green’s allies were banned from ringside one week earlier, Niven & Fyre were there for the title match.

Vega was in control of the match after hitting a Backstabber. When Vega ran the ropes, Niven tripped up Vega, and then Fyre grabbed Vega’s head, looking like Fyre was going to punch Vega. Referee Ryan Tran saw it, so he ejected Niven & Fyre from ringside.

After Niven & Fyre complained, Green hit Vega with a forearm to the back. However, Vega was able to bounce off the ropes and hit a Code Red for the pinfall win.

The title win for Vega was big on its own, and in the segment right after that, Vega’s husband Aleister Black made his return to WWE by dropping The Miz with a Black Mass kick.

Chelsea Green Demands A Recount

It likely comes as no surprise that Chelsea Green isn’t taking the loss of the Women’s US Title well. In a video posted on X/Twitter, Green was seen walking backstage, looking sad about the loss, and shouting about how she wanted a recount. Green’s gimmick as the Women’s US CHampion was acting like she was the President of the United States, so that’s why she was emotional about the loss.

It’s possible that Green could get a rematch for the title, but for now, Zelina Vega is the new Women’s US Champion.
