Chelsea Green Earns Major Win On WWE NXT Tonight

The main event of WWE NXT tonight saw a huge championship match take place as the Women’s United States Champion, Chelsea Green, defended her title on the black and silver brand.

Chelsea appeared on last week’s episode to support her mixed tag team partner, Ethan Page, after he was ushered into a North American Championship match against Moose, but wound up in a championship match herself.

Green was arguing with Ava when she rewarded Sol Ruca, who defeated Bayley during this month’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, with a shot at Chelsea’s United States Championship.

Sol Ruca was on fire during her match tonight and looked destined to win the title in the main event tonight. However, Chelsea was flanked by both Ethan Page and Alba Fyre on the ringside, who bailed her out at every moment possible.

Chelsea got some offense of her own at times in the match, but she was outmatched by Sol Ruca for large parts of the match. It seemed like Ruca would get the win once Moose came out to take out Ethan Page, which distracted both ZARIA and the referee.

Sol Ruca was going in for a Sol Snatcher on Chelsea but Alba Fyre stopped her on the turnbuckle, allowing Green to drop her down and hit her with the UnPrettyHer to retain her WWE United States Championship.
