Charlotte Flair Tipped To Win Another WWE Championship
Charlotte Flair could collect another WWE Championship at Evolution PLE on Sunday.
Flair is a 14-time singles champion and a one-time tag team champion, a reign that came with Asuka in December 2020.
Since debuting on the main roster in 2015, she has primarily competed as a singles wrestler.
Charlotte is now back in the tag team division, although not preferentially, with a different partner in Alexa Bliss.
The pair shares a close personal bond, having started their journeys together in WWE NXT, but they have a complicated relationship on-screen.
They first competed as a team in the July 4 SmackDown episode, facing The Secret Hervice and Michin/B-Fab in a three-way tag team competition, and qualified for the championship bout at Evolution.
Flair, who often prefers to be aloof, claimed that Bliss brings out the softer side in her.
Former WWE employee and Hollywood actor Freddie Prinze Jr. discussed the women’s tag team match on his podcast, Wrestling with Freddie, saying they have a strong chance of winning the gold.
To me, they are such an unlikely duo. They’re like the odd couple that they have to win, and that’s Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, cos it’s too weird that they are together just to lose the match. That would be too weird. I think the story is with them as champs and then maybe somehow Alexa gets corrupted by the Wyatt Sicks. [7:35 onwards]
Charlotte Flair Thinks Alexa Bliss Is The Fifth Horsewoman
The legacy of the Four Horsewomen is storied, of which Charlotte Flair is a part.
Flair, along with Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks), is credited for revolutionizing the women’s division.
The former women’s world champion recently spoke about her relationship with Lynch, Bayley, and Mone.
During a recent interview with USA Today, she also admitted that she considers Alexa Bliss to be the “fifth horsewoman.”
Charlotte Flair speaking so highly of Bliss could very well hint at a growing bond between them; whether or not they can coexist in the high-velocity women’s tag team match is a different question altogether.
