Charlotte Flair has revealed her delight in continuing tradition at Survivor Series: WarGames.

The event marked the first participation in the brutal bout for ‘The Queen’, who followed in the footsteps of her Father, ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair, who was a regular competitor in the bout during it’s 1987 and 1988 infancy.

Flair’s delight arrives off the back of an emotional Cody Rhodes stating his joy at appearing in the match created by his Father, ‘The American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes.

Speaking at the post-Survivor Series: WarGames press conference, Flair explained that whilst she was targeting a brilliant performance, just being in the match itself was the highlight:

“How do we beat the match from last year? How do we top every year and knowing that last year was so good and the year before the NXT one.

But I think for me, it was just more, the history with WarGames, with my dad and Dusty and wanting to be a part of that, continuing the tradition.”

Charlotte Flair Discusses Reuniting With Becky Lynch

Flair was interviewed alongside WarGames team mate Becky Lynch at the press conference. The pair were close friends during their time in NXT and their initial rise to the main roster, but the friendship became strained in 2018 as Lynch became the standout female Superstar and relations have reportedly remained frosty ever since.

It would appear, however, that the pair are attempting to reconcile with Flair referencing the fall out during the press conference:

“Being with Bianca and Shotzi and having this moment with Becky, for me, it was more making amends.

We kind of left in a bad spot and then coming together tonight and how can we move forward with everything. It was awesome. I had to get my moonsault in. I was like, ‘I have to go off the cage.”
