Charlotte Flair Not Against “Nepo Baby” Term In WWE

Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair claims that being compared to her father adds pressure.

2025 has been a year of growth for WWE star Charlotte Flair. She was able to connect with the fans by showing a vulnerable side of hers that she had previously kept under wraps. Her successful odd-pairing tag team run with Alexa Bliss further added to fans getting behind her and cheering for her, something that hadn’t happened for her in her ten years as a wrestler.

The Queen was off TV for a year, nursing major injuries: A torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus. Her road to recovery was a gruelling one, and it made her return at Royal Rumble 2025 all the more triumphant.

However, she is the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, and that leads to people calling her a “nepo baby,” indicating that it’s easy for her because she was born into the industry. Flair is a 14-time Women’s World Champion, close to her dad’s record of 16 titles. However, Charlotte reveals that she was never against being called by the term and uses it to her advantage instead.

Charlotte Flair Looks At Being The Daughter OF Ric Flair In A Positive Light

Flair spoke in an exclusive interview with Clutch Points, where she said that she “doesn’t know any different” than being the daughter of The Nature Boy Ric Flair. She optimistically added that although it’s an extra layer of pressure, it’s good pressure.

I think it’s good pressure. I think you either rise to the occasion or you don’t; you find your own niche and path. I’ve had ups and downs with the last name, but I would never change anything.

The term nepo baby can sometimes help storylines in terms of making people dislike you or [to] come across [as] dislikable like Dom (Mysterio). But I would never discredit any nepo baby that has had success in this industry because I know how hard it is, and it takes a lot.

Charlotte Flair will be seen in action next when she & Alexa Bliss go to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against The Culling (Izzi Dame & Tatum Paxley) on NXT.
