Charlotte Flair Is “Above Being Good And Bad”

Charlotte Flair is looking to dominate.

At the Royal Rumble, Charlotte Flair returned to action after a major knee injury forced her to miss the entirety of 2024. The former Women’s Champion suffered the injury in a match against Asuka in December 2023 and was forced to watch from the sidelines as WWE broke record after record.

In her big comeback, Flair won the women’s Royal Rumble, earning a shot at Women’s Championship gold at WrestleMania. However, her journey to that match has been far from straightforward.

During an interview with Alex McCarthy for the Daily Mail, Flair was asked about her return and subsequent run towards a date with Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania.

Although Flair was initially cheered when she appeared at the Royal Rumble, she was booed heavily during her next appearance. This sparked reports that WWE made a conscious decision to present her as a heel moving forward, believing fans had rejected her as a babyface.

While looking back at the reaction she received, Flair said she’s above being good and bad, and she’s neither a babyface nor a heel.

“I think there is a misconception that people are like “oh, Charlotte Flair is good” or that I was trying to be good. I keep going and not that she’s trying to be good or she’s trying to be bad – no. Charlotte Flair is above being good and bad. She is just Charlotte Flair. She’s the end all be all of women’s wrestling. I am the end-all be-all of women’s wrestling.

Now that I have learned from every opportunity I have learned from every opponent. I’ve learned from every scenario to me you’re either wooing or booing. Get on board, learn to love it. I am who I am.

It’s different town to town, event to event. Like I wrestled in Nottingham against Piper and they were woos. She got the boos. But the night before I got the boos. I love that I can take people on that roller coaster. Either way, yeah, if we don’t hear anything then we worry!”

Charlotte Flair Hits Back At Speculation On Future

During the same interview, Charlotte Flair denied she was planning to step back from WWE.

Should Flair beat Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania she will move ever closer to breaking her father’s World Championship record. Some have suggested that given her incredible CV and the fact she turns 40 in 2026, Flair might slow down in the coming years.

However, she said she’s as motivated as ever to win championships and wrestle at big events, adding that winning gold is “in her DNA.”
