Charlotte Flair Reaches Impressive Championship Milestone
After her shocking return and title win on SmackDown, Charlotte Flair can claim an incredible championship milestone!
The final SmackDown of 2022 saw Charlotte Flair make her shocking return to WWE. The star hadn’t been seen in the company since losing her SmackDown Women’s Championship to Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash back in May, and speculation about plans for her return have been swirling for months.
On December 30th, Ronda Rousey successfully defended the SmackDown Women’s Title against Raquel Rodriguez. Just as Rousey was about to speak following her victory, Flair appeared on the ramp to the surprise of the crowd in attendance, confronting the woman who sent her out of WWE with a storyline arm injury so many months ago. Rousey asked if Flair was there to challenge her for a match at the upcoming Royal Rumble, but The Queen said that she wanted a title match that very night.
After declaring that she was feeling “spicy,” Rousey accepted the challenged, and the two faced off immediately. The bout didn’t last long as Flair countered an armbar attempt into a pinfall victory, ensuring that she would enter 2023 as SmackDown Women’s Champion.
As pointed out by Wrestling Stats & Info on Twitter, Flair’s victory on the last SmackDown of 2022 allowed her to reach the incredible milestone of having held a championship in WWE in ten consecutive years.
